Our friendly staff at Lockwood Pharmacy are all trained to use and interpret blood sugar readings. We can liaise with your GP/Practice Nurse should you require your results forwarding on for further testing. You can feel confident with our staff when receiving diabetes related healthcare advice and blood sugar interpretation, and if you require help in using your own blood glucose monitoring equipment or you require new equipment for home monitoring, we will only be too happy to provide you with all of the help and guidance that you need.

Free Head Lice Treatment

Lockwood Pharmacy is able to provide free head lice treatment as part of the Kirklees initiative scheme to fight head lice. Simply bring in a sample of a lice (to confirm the organism) and receive free head lice treatment. Under the scheme, two treatments will be provided per individual, which must be used 7 days apart to ensure effective eradication. Should the pharmacist feel other treatment is required rather than head lice treatment, then he or she can advise you accordingly.

Hajj / Umrah Vaccination

Visitors planning to perform Hajj or Umrah in Saudi Arabia must obtain the Meningococcal Meningitis ACWY vaccine before their journey. This vaccination is a mandatory requirement for entry into Saudi Arabia during the pilgrimage season, with the certificate needing to be issued at least 10 days prior to arrival. The vaccine protects against four strains of meningococcal bacteria (A, C, W, and Y) and is crucial for preventing the spread of meningitis during large gatherings like Hajj and Umrah.
